TRENDS IN AEROSPACE

Exponential Growth

Aviation has gone on to become one of the largest global industries with rapid growth over the past 50 years.

With over $100 billion in annual exports, Aviation manufacturing is the leading net export in the US.

With the increasing challenges set to an ever shifting industry, innovation is needed across the private sector, STEM research and government agencies in order to lead the charge of this industry for the 21st Century.

SHIFT TO AN ALTERNATIVE FOCUS

Geared for the Future

The aviation industry needs to focus on green aircraft technologies, alternative fuels and market-based measures in order to reach net
zero emmisions in aerospace by 2050.

Currently a quarter of the operating costs of airlines is spent on fuel (23.7%). This alone is an industry-wide incentive to focus on efficiencies.
